Skin contact with the Grenache has produced a vibrant salmon
pink colour. The nose displays ripe, red raspberry on the
nose and palate from the Grenache with some plum and
spiciness from the Shiraz. Fermented entirely in stainless
steel the wine shows excellent mouthfeel, balanced acidity
and a touch of residual sweetness on the finish. |

Vintage Notes:
A mild winter
2008 experienced below average rainfall and spring saw an average
flowering and fruit set.
A short burst of very hot weather in early February 2009 produced
some leaf burn and fruit shrivel and caused many growers to panic
and pick too early which resulted in the loss of fruit flavour. The
later ripening Grenache and Shiraz survived this burst of heat
unscathed and then enjoyed perfect, mild vintage conditions. The
Grenache for this Rose was picked with the express purpose of making
a Rose while the Shiraz was added to give some spiciness to the
finish.

favourite recipe for this wine:
Serve chilled - enjoy in the garden or by the water over summer with
spicy, Asian influenced dishes e.g. Grilled chicken served with a
chopped Asian salad (finely sliced green and red cabbage, green
onion, shredded carrot, bean sprouts ) with mint, shallots,
coriander and roasted peanuts. Dress with a spicy Thai dressing of
palm sugar, fish sauce, lime juice and fresh chili. |
